This is my 13 year old daughter's grade 7 Science Fair project. The idea was to design a prototype set of arms that would allow the bomb squad to defuse a bomb from a far distance. She has about 50 hours into it and and approximately $60 in materials. She used 1/16" oil coated aricraft cable through bicycle cables, bicycle pump for upper arm, metal broom stick handle, 3/4" dowel, 3/4" plywood, 50lb threaded fishing line, springs, hinges, old speaker stand, eves trough parts, hot glue, srews, pant belts and a huge amount of patience. She is already planning a fully functional wireless model that will be controlled by an operator safely.
